UK Cell Salvage Action Group
The UK Cell Salvage Action Group (UKCSAG) was established in 2006 to support the wider implementation of cell salvage as an alternative to donor blood, and to facilitate a UK approach to its use.
Chaired by Dr Craig Carroll, UKCSAG comprises leading experts in cell salvage from across the UK. It promotes the collaboration and co-ordination of specialist skills and knowledge to help sustain the appropriate and effective use of cell salvage.
The recommendations made by UKCSAG reflect what it considers best practice. It produces resources to support the development and provision of cell salvage services in hospitals as part of the broader blood conservation strategy, and the integrated care of patients to align with the principles of patient blood management.
Where UKCSAG documents are provided in Word (DOC) format, organisations are welcome to adapt them to suit their local needs.
