Additional information

This a genetic disorder of connective tissues. Some individuals with Marfan syndrome have heart and blood vessel problems that can be serious. These are screened for routinely in people who have been diagnosed with this condition. Donations should not be taken from people with heart or blood vessel problems as there may be an increased risk of serious adverse events.

Reason for change:
