Essential information

Obligatory

Must not donate if:

1. Has an indwelling shunt and there is evidence of shunt infection.
2. Has an infected pressure sore.

Discretionary

Eyes:

Shunt infection or infected pressure sore - if the corneas are to be stored by organ culture, accept.

Supporting information

Additional information

Donated bone is cultured to exclude occult bacterial and fungal infection. However it should not be collected from bacteraemic subjects.

Reason for change:

A 'Discretion' has been added for 'Eyes'.
